Sassella is a red wine made from grapes from the homonymous historical subarea and probably most famous of the Valtellina Superiore appellation: west of Sondrio, from Castione Andevenno to capital, a rugged and sunny area.
The specification of Valtellina Superiore Sassella requires that it must be obtained from grapes from vineyards having, in the company, the following varietal composition:

Vintage: 2012
The vintage has been characterized by a swing weather pattern. In spring cold thermal excursions were responsible for a drop in yield of DOCG Sassella compared to previous vintages. The warm months of July and August allowed the phenological phases to the best, followed by a rather rainy and cool September, with thermal excursions that favored the coloring of the grapes and the parameters of ripening. It is to be considered a late vintage, qualitatively very interesting.
