Valtellina Superiore Sassella DOCG is a red wine made from grapes from the homonymous historical subarea and probably most famous of the Valtellina Superiore appellation: west of Sondrio, from Castione Andevenno to capital, a rugged and sunny area. PG40 is dedicated to Paganoni Giovanna, mother of the owner, Michele Rigamonti, born in 1940.
Valtellina Superiore DOCG “La Spia” is a really elegant wine, medium bodied, silky tannins, perfectly balanced and with a long finish.
The 2 Valtellina Superiore are 100% Nebbiolo (Chiavennasca), in the Alpi Retiche IGT we have a small percentage of Merlot and Barbera grapes that give a unique peculiarity to the vintage. The maceration on the pomace is short and the alcoholic fermentation, after pressing, ends its course in “liquid”. The tannins are less intrusive and the ruby red colour, with violet reflections, reveals intense young fruity aromas, and a spicy note.
