The proximity of Lake Garda significantly affects the climate, which is cool and breezy throughout the year. The temperature changes are such as to allow good overall ripening of the grapes with delicious scents in the wine. After harvest the grapes are left to macerate for 10/12 days at a controlled temperature, before starting fermentation.
