Born in the wake of the Tuscan experience in the mid-80s, the Marzieno has been able to build his own personality and above all his own credibility, so much as to result over the years, according to the criticism, among the few red wines of our region to be able to compete with the best Italian reds of its type.
Starting with the 2001 harvest, while continuing to maintain a solid casing given by Sangiovese, the cutting of the Marzieno saw the introduction, alongside cabernet sauvignon, of other grape varieties such as syrah and merlot. Our favourite vintages are 1990, 1995, 1997, 1998, 2001, 2006, 2008 and 2011.
