Lambrusco Mantovano DOC

The geographical area of the name Lambrusco Mantovano DOC includes two subzones, the subzone of the “Oltre Po mantovano” area located to the right of the river Po and the subzone of the “Viadanese-Sabbionetano”. The area of the Oltre Po mantovano is the area of the low plain, between the altitude of 7 and 20 m The area of Viadanese-Sabbionetano is instead the area of the middle plain between the river Po and the Oglio, the altitudes are between 13 and 36 m. The climate of both areas is characterized by average summer temperatures exceeding 22C with summer sultry also caused by strong humidity, fogs in the autumn-winter period and harsh winters with returns of spring frost.
